Handcrafted tea specialities & pressed tea
In addition to tea specialities that are distinguished by a special production method, such as yellow tea, the markets of the Far East in particular offer a variety of handcrafted, precious teas.
Tea leaves are rolled by hand into small, solid beads or bound into true works of art, which not only delight the palate but also the eye as they unfold in the cup.
Pressed tea has a long tradition. In the past, tea bricks made from pressed black tea served as a means of payment in parts of Asia. Even today beautiful tea bricks decorated with elaborate ornaments are on offer, or the fermented tea leaves are pressed into small, delicate tea nests.
