Darjeeling First Flush is considered one of the most precious rarities in the world of tea. After the tea bushes' winter dormancy in the Himalayas, the first tender spring shoots of are hand-picked for this special quality. Characteristic of this first harvest period of the year is the incomparable floral and tangy aroma, and a light golden, vibrant cup color. It is the moment when the freshness of the mountains is captured in your cup.

The first samples of the First Flush tea have arrived – we are thrilled!

The 2026 tea season has started early for us this year. While most gardens in Darjeeling are still waiting for the first heavy spring rains, we received the very first samples of the new season’s first flush tea in February. Thanks to its own irrigation system, the Namring tea garden was able to cultivate the first tender shoots regardless of the general weather conditions. 

The first batch: Tasted and graded

Every year, it is an exciting moment to examine these first flush teas of the season. We have already tasted the exclusive samples. We have already tasted the exclusive samples. The leaf quality and fine aroma are both excellent and far exceed our expectations at this early stage. Due to the strictly limited quantity, this first delivery was sold out immediately upon arrival – a wonderful sign of the great anticipation for the new harvest.

Outlook: The coming weeks

We have good news for all lovers of first flush qualities: we are in constant contact with our local partners. We expect the next major harvests and air-freighted tea arrivals in mid to late March.
